7 ply project is sk8 art festival aiming in, the promotion of the art and culture that surround the lifestyle of skateboarding and into introducing to a broader “audience” a lifestyle that has been born and maintained by the city concrete but still involves sensitivity, tension, extremity, love for the nature and dreams for the future.

The starting point of the festival is the object of worship of all skateboarders, which is their skateboard deck. The 7 ply construction is the most common type of construction used in the production of a skateboard deck. Under this discipline different artists were challenged by creating each one of them a different art piece with no limitation and no other rule except the one of using a skateboard deck in their project.

The festival is focused on the presentation of the artistic creations of all the artists that participate in the exhibition and no matter if they actually skate or not, they acknowledge the great impact that skateboarding does on today’s society plus the importance of communicating contemporary art, graffiti, skate art, photography, street art, graphic design, etc. to people that might not be aware of the constant evolution and mingling of different art fields.

Music is way far connected with skateboarding so different live acts and djs perform during the festival creating in their way their artistic pieces that set the atmosphere.
